PRUSSIAN FIRE-FIGHTERS INVITED ON NATO BASE
OUR ARTICLE AND PHOTOGRAPHIC IMPRESSIONS
Thousands of acres were lost due to fire in the woods in Portugal summer 2016 !
Portugal was responded by Russia, sending two Beriev Be 200ES
Riding out of the water right up to the quay
Just a small hop on the water and the belly is filled
Suddenly.... there was a Beriev at Monte Real in Portugal ???  Shut your eyes and look again !
Open your eyes...... and yes Kees Otten must have thought when passing by on vacation !
And not just one, no two examples on the platform !
The plane splashes down on a lake and in only a few seconds it takes up to 12,6 tons of water
Therefor the berievs were invited by Portugal, due to the great fires that threathened so many houses and people.
NATO countries itself could not deliver a large capacity, and then... 'Emergency breaks the law !'
Read in our article how many water this plane can load in seconds !
When the job is done it can just ride out of the water like in a James Bond movie.
The fire fighters in Portugal are called 'Bombeiros'.
They do their jobs under extreme circumstances
Afterwards they were honoured for their work
In the Portugese town of 'Leira' theBombeiros were gathered....
......some speeches were held....
Members of the Russian ministry for emergencies were present !
At september 11th the Major of Lisboa spoke proud words about the work, and cooperation to the press....
He thanked all teams....
.....including all ground- and aircrews of the other participating countries.
Okay, party over, going home boys !
...and the Russians flew back as well.
