The last article about this flying Warbird
The Royal Airforce 'Strategic Bomber' flew first in 1952
It could reach a subsonic speed
The plane could carry a heavy weaponload and ha a wide range
But now the days are numbered, it was too out-dated and too costly to keep it flying
So lean back, and enjoy these images of it's last flight...
....accompanied by the jets of the RAF 'Red Arrows'
The end of an era for this iconic 'deltawinger'
On 15 May 2015 it was announced that 2015 would be the last flying season for XH558.
The Vulcan XH588 made his final flight at 28 October 2015 and landed at Robin Hood base.
The bird spread his wings and his parachute for the last time.
