LIFELINE TO BARDUFOSSI
Gardermoen station. Minus 29 degrees.
We arrive on a quite misty day where snow is expected.
The luck is ours, we found a C-130J Super-Hercules on the platform of Bardufoss.....
.... so we can show you operational- and hangar pictures of the 130 as well.
Always an impressing view, and this toned-down color sceme fits perfectly in the Bardufoss environment !
Have a good flight and happy landings !
At Gardermoen station we are able and allowed to see the C-130J inside. Here the remarquable space in the cockpit.
This cockpit is equipped with HUD screens. (Head-up displays)
Norwegian Airforce is keen on this feature, it's not standard in all Herculesses in other countries.

Digitalised cockpit, instruments on....
.....Frontpanels
Striking is the hangar-concept at Gardermoen, an exeptional fine and modern building !
Some impressions....
Even in the hangar goes: Safety first. What could ever happen when the power is set on ?
Actually everything ! Even parked in the hangar you can never exclude all dangers (see foam-gun below)

Inside the plane a laptop which can find and analyse any problem on board precise also during flight, and just .... >>
.... suppose there would be smoke or fire, the foamgun above will fill the entire hangar with foam in moments automatic !
Ok, via a view on the hatch on the back, and an engine we go inside again, this C-130J even has a proper toilet !
A view in the body, here in a configuration to transport many people. (for instance during an ecavuation)
Turn around and you'll see the hatch on the back. The floor is equipped to load heavy stuff in an easy and fast way.
Well, thanks for the views, our guide carefully covers the hud's....
Last action is to switch off all systems. We hope you liked this tour in and around the Norwegian C-130J Hercules.

LIFELINE MEDEVAC RYGGE I

More or less incidently we ran into this SAR (Search And Rescue) Sea King at Rygge.
A few times a day we saw it come and go, not knowing if it was exercising or for real scrambles.
View on the tower of Rygge.
Here the Sea King is accompanied by an EC-135 of the Norsk Luftambulanse AS (NLA). Background an F-5 on pole..
The Eurocopter is prepared to land on snow and ice.
A few more images of the Sea King...
... when lucky you don't have to defy the lashing snow....
..... an hour later the conditions may have changed completely !

So far the SAR helicopter(s) on Rygge, after the job back to the hangar where it could be a few degrees less cold....
Thanks for showing us, and keep up the good work !
