BISON
DRAWSKO - THE MAJOR EU EXERCISE Part-II
Welcome
to part II |
9:
ELECTRONIC WARFARE AND COMMUNICATIONS IN THE FIELD
Vital
in warfare is communications and electronic warfare. |
Not
only your own communications but 'what does the enemy do' in
particular. |
Own
troops in exercises are not seldom 'annoyed' by several 'jammers',
to be prepared in and to search for alternative solutions. |
As
much as possible all units are followed and provided with neccessary
information. |
Of
course you need the equipment to do so, and be able to defend
yourself as well. |
In
real crisis of course there can always be the support of the
airforce. |
Hungarian
Gripens on patrol. |
A
'wild bunch' in cooperation: Typhoon, Mig-29, F-16 and F/A-18,
'ready, willing and able'. |
'Knowing
you're out there, up in the sky!'. |
10:
FORWARD COMMAND POST
Centennials
ago the generals were watching the 'battlefield' from high above the
hill, nowadays commandposts are in the middle of it..... |
....
in high tech vehicles, in
datalink systems, and of course in fast moving units |
11:
IN THE AREA: RECONNAISSANCE
The
environment doesn't tell you all you want to know, so you'll have to
go out and find out yourself.... |
....and
again it's all about communications... |
...knowing
to find your way in unknown environments... |
...and
every now and then you'll have to be as invisable as possible... |
...
with some white in the white... and some
green in the green. (R: in action with mine-detectors) |
German
soldiers explore... |
Not
only recce by vehicles, but in the air as well, more and more by
drones. |
They
are small, the cost are low, they are very effective and easy to
handle. No pilots mean casualties, and they are very fast to
replace. |
So
far about Bison Drawsko, now we'll show you the last part: QRA over
