Deze keer was er een 'gezellig onderonsje' tussen België waar de A-109's werden gebruikt, en Nederland.
This time there was a 'cozy chat' between Belgium where the A-109's were used, and The Netherlands.
Joint Medical Modules (JMM) is een militaire multi nationale oefening met een bescheiden deelname. 
Joint Medical Modules (JMM) is a multi-national military exercise with a modest participation.
Ongeveer 70 deelnemers zijn ter plekke, wel met een belangrijke missie. Hier landt de Belgische Embraer
Approximately 70 participants are there with an important mission. Here the Belgian Embraer lands
Vanuit een zogenaamd crisisgebied werden veel (zwaar) gewonden aangevoerd per helicopter en met ambulances
From a so-called crisis area, many (heavy) casualties landed by helicopter and were brought by ambulances
Waar mogelijk wordt het slachtoffer gestabiliseerd om te worden vervoerd naar medische centra
Where possible, the victim is stabilized to be transported to medical centers
Ook de militaire ambulances zijn goed uitgerust met noodzakelijke apparatuur
The military ambulances are well equipped with necessary medical equipment
Medisch, transport, aircrew, groundcrew, iedereen heeft zijn specifieke taak welke moet aansluiten op de ander.
Medical, transportation, air crew, ground crew, everyone has their specific task which must be adapted to the other.
     
*Slachtoffers worden waar mogelijk al geholpen, verbonden, en bewaakt met de nodige apparatuur*
* Victims are assisted whenever possible, connected, and monitored with the necessary equipment *
De oefening werd gehouden op vliegbasis Woensdrecht, middelen kwamen van onze luchtmacht en die van België* 
The exercise was held at Woensdrecht airbase, funds came from our Air Force and those of Belgium *
     
*Brancards worden gedragen , en wie nog kan lopen loopt, eventueel met verzorging en verzorgende
* Stretchers are carried, and who can still walk, possibly with care and nurturing
Er was een Casualty Staging Unit (CSU) ingericht voor behandeling van patienten uit het gesimuleerde operatiegebied*
There was a Casualty Staging Unit (CSU) designed for treatment of patients coming from the simulated operation area *
   
*Er is een zeer uitgebreide interactie tussen vliegend  en medisch personeel, men moet goed ingespeeld zijn op elkaar 
* There is a very extensive interaction between flying and medical personnel, it has to be responsive to eachother
In het veld is een uitstekend uitgerust veldhospitaal opgezet *
In the field a well-equipped field hospital has been set up *
Belgische 'casualties' worden ook aan boord van de Embraer evacuatievlucht steeds bewaakt en verzorgd 
Belgian 'casualties' on board of the Embraer evacuation flight always are continuously guarded and taken care of
   
Enerzijds rust, anderzijds stormachtige aanvoer van gewonden en serieuze verzorging
One hand rest in treatment, no panic, on the other stormy supply of serious injuries and caretaking
Een aantal gewonden staan gereed voor vertrek met de Medical Flight naar Belgie
Some injured are ready to be transported with the Medical Flight to Belgium
Directe hulp in de CSU unit leidt er toe dat zwaar gewonden worden opgelapt voor de aeromedical flight..... 
Direct help in the CSU unit leads to it that serious injured are stabilised for the aeromedical flight .....
 
...waar meer medische voorzieningen zijn. In dit geval een inzet van een Belgische Embraer ERJ-135LR

Aan boord moeten veel handelingen verricht worden door een medisch team dat opereert volgens CCATT
On board, many operations are performed by a medical team that operates according CCATT
CCATT (Critical Care Air Transport Team) is een team van drie experts die een vliegende intensive care runnen 
CCATT (Critical Care Air Transport Team) is a team of three experts who run a flying intensive care
Zij die zich nog de serie M*A*S*H* kunnen herinneren hebben hier een goed beeld bij.*
Those who still remember the M * A * S * H * series will have a good impression in this *.
 Trauma, shock, ademhalingsproblemen, multi orgaanfalen, het klinkt heftig, maar is wel de 'realiteit' hier
Trauma, shock, respiratory failure, multi-organ failure, it sounds heavy, but it is the 'reality' here
De Embraer is voorzien van een speciale slede om de brancards efficient aan boord te kunnen schuiven
The Embraer has been provided with a special cradle to slide the stretchers efficiently on board 
Uiterste voorzichtigheid is geboden voor de slachtoffers...
Extreme caution should be exercised for the victims ...
...en vele handen maken licht(er) werk !

Het is fantastische werk van medici in een legeruniform, een gerichte keus van hen die het betreft.
It's fantastic work of doctors in an army uniform, a knowingly choice of those who are concerned.
CATT crews moeten IC faciliteiten kunnen opzetten en in bedrijf houden onafhankelijk van het type vliegtuig.
CATT crews must realize Intensive Care facilities and maintain them in service, independent of the type of aircraft.
Het ophalen van slachtoffers op een FOB (lees vliegveld) bij vijandelijk gebied vraagt ook veel beheersing bij piloten
Rescueing victims on a Forward Operating Base (airport) in enemy territory demands much skills by pilots
Wachten op de volgende aanvoervlucht bij het medisch centrum in het veld
Waiting for the next flight landing at the medical center in the field .....
   
Commanders en crews zijn altijd bereid voor een foto en houden e.e.a. belangstellend in de gaten.
Commanders and crews are always ready for a picture and observe all actions with interest
De Embraer is geladen, en spoedt zich richting zijn bestemming(en)
The Embraer is loaded, and hurries toward his destination (s)
