The Italian contribution in 'Aeronautica & Difesa viation magazine of 'SAR Meet'
a

In this part we show you a lot of details concerning the competitioni

a
ii
Leeuwarden AFB was the place where 'winching along' several missions had to be carried out

Such as carrying a barrel of water through a pattern, and detonating 'real' bombs with a hook !!
ii
Also at various turning points such as Drachten, Sijbren Kuperus (L) gave the crews the neccesary
timetables, every second counts ! All under the watchful eyes of the fair observers all around

Left: The 'Tower' of Drachten, capable however to guide the planes, right: Observers judging.
iiiii
Crewmembers had a wooden cube, on which 6 different parts of their traject to fly which was
ofcourse not quite easy fore the foreigh participants, since the Dutch know their ways around.
Never the less: Quite fun, certainly afterwards in the evening after a nice cold beer !
a

We continue with the participants: The German Sea King from Kieli

a
ii
The Germans departed, winched the barrel and detonated the 'bomb' perfectly !

Another few images of the German Sea King in action

Next: Linda's part: The Lynx from Naval Airbase 'The Kooij' Den Helderi

a

The Drachten windbag is a bit sad, without anything flying...           But here comes the LYNX !!!
The pilots of the Lynx are all very satisfied with this very 'handling' helicopter...

... Landing here at Drachten turning point to get their exact time and progress information

In forseeable future the crews have to switch to the new NH-90

Great participation of a small helicopter with crew (!): The Alouette III 'Grashopper'
